BUSTED!!!! TMP Plagerizers 2009

I'm glad someone is stepping up and taking responsibility for the work created here, in this case Dean Mary Schmidt. To the heroic anonymous reporter who snapped all these pics before the signs got removed (and submitting them here) thank you. Update: Read the comments for the full story!

Double Whammy!

Mary Schmidt is not the dean, but I'm just glad my piece isn't up here, cause I know I didn't grab any image.

While this happened nearly a year ago, a friend of mine just sent me the link to this page and I felt the need to comment...

Myself and Zenobie Cornille were the ones that made and posted the plagiarism papers, not Mary Schmidt. We used it as a ploy to make those students go into the office and say they were there to talk with Mary about their plagiarism, therefore admitting to what they did. Turns out, four students did end up going to the office before the signs were taken down. Yeah we set them up, but we really didn't want people to get away with such bullshit. Some schools expel students for plagiarism, sadly U of M just brushed the matter to the side.

Wow. I feel cheated.... I ACTUALLY THOUGHT that the school did something about this. BULLSHIT.

I, of course, a newcomer to this blog, but the author does not agree

Dear Katie Barrie,

Please inform me as to how my piece was plagiarism. It's the one that says 'OMG that's so sad.' I understand the ones where people did NOTHING with their pieces, however most of mine has in fact been rendered, and worked quite closely with a professor to make sure I was not plagiarising. Of course if it were to be published, it would need permission from those people who took the photos in the background, but I think it's fairly clear that I did not take them since they are famous photos. You should probably get your plagiarism ideas in order before making such 'bold' comments. Oh, but I guess all art students are taught to make bold comments before knowing what they're talking about. Well, good luck with that.
